A few wagons from my own past

Chris "Lonewolf" Cooper

Starting his modelling career at the tender age of 7 years old, Chris did the same as many other modellers and began making Airfix aircraft assisted by parents who were both in the RAF. As the years went on, he continued the hobby and started to improve, discovering model clubs where hints and tips abounded and older modellers were always willing to pass on advice.

Eventually he started attending model shows where clubs exhibited. These were a mine of inspiration and helped him improve in leaps and bounds. He branched out into other modelling disciplines, being interested in motorbikes and figure painting. By now working as a lorry driver, he eventually discovered Italeri truck kits from Italy and never looked back.

Finally becoming brave enough to enter model competitions, he entered the highest levels of modelling expertise. He joined the International Plastic Model Society (IPMS-UK) in 1998 and is still a member and is the leader of the Truck Special Interest Group (SIG) within IPMS. He submits modelling articles to both the IPMS in-house magazine, and also the only magazine solely dedicated to truck modelling, Traplet's Truck Model World.

Finally he won the Gold medal at the National Competition in Telford with a semi scratchbuilt truck and trailer model in 2008. From those first sticky Spitfires to the National competitions was a timespan of some 35 years!
